Norway is known for a few things: great hand lotion, Henrik Ibsen and, well, death metal. But, surprisingly, Norway has a much more well-rounded taste in music than the casual observer may notice. This festival has grown into a formidable opponent to any other European fest and a sought after destination for the indie music fan.All concert-goers will get to take in the beautiful Norwegian landscapre of the medieval park where the festival takes place. In addition to the scenery, the festival will have four outdoor stages and a full-blown mall of vendors.
As the biggest festival in Norway (with a crowd of 15,000 planned to attend), the festival is panning on being the most environmentally friend fest in the country. Øya will have 100% green food offered, as well a green tactics to help limit energy use for the acts on stage. Beat that, Swedes.

* Band lists are not necessarily complete, please check the official festival page for a full lineup.
