Johnny Depp will portray Chicago mobster John Dillinger in the forthcoming Public Enemies. Christian Bale, who should rename himself "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business," and this year's Best Actress winner Marion Cotillard also have roles in the period piece. Channing Tatum, whose career has caught fire over the past year, will play Dillinger's partner in crime, Pretty Boy Floyd.
Giovanni Ribisi, Billy Crudup, and Stephen Dorff round out the ensemble cast of this Depression-era flick that takes a look at the seedy underbelly of Chicago and the FBI men who fought iti.
Filming is currently underway, with a July 2009 release date in the books.
