Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, has finally answered months of rumors about her reported divorce from Guy Ritchie.
"There are no divorce plans," she wrote in a brief email to Reuters.
While The Daily Mirror ran a two-page piece about the couple's supposed split last week, Us magazine went so far as to suggest an alleged affair between Madonna and Alex Rodriguez. Aside from appearing at a Madonna concert on April 30, the New York Yankees third baseman had apparently been snuck into the pop star's New York apartment, leaving "all the doormen … talking." Rosenberg blasted these reports as well.
Madonna, 49, and Ritchie, 39, exchanged vows in December of 2000 after meeting at a party held by Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler. The marriage is Madonna's second. (She tied the knot with Sean Penn in the '80s.) The couple has two kids: their biological son, Rocco, and David Banda, a Malawian boy who was adopted in 2006. Madonna also has a daughter named Lourdes from an earlier relationship.
The couple's only project together, the film Swept Away, was a rare clunker in Ritchie's career, leading him to tell Reuters, "I don't know (if we'll work together again). We don't want to stick our chins out again."
