She's close to a major deal
Live Nation is reportedly in talks with Shakira for a 360-degree deal similar to the ones it's offered to Madonna, U2 and Jay-Z. According to a New York Post story yesterday, the pop star would be worth up to $70 million in a contract covering touring, merchandising and recording—possibly even more due to the success of her recent tour. (Her "Oral Fixation" trek, a series of Live Nation shows, grossed more than $100 million last year.)
Epic currently holds the rights to Shakira's music. She still owes them an English album, a Spanish album, and a greatest hits collection.
