The original soundtrack to Roy Mann's marijuana documentary Grass blends ganja-inspired and influenced rock and hip-hop with excerpts from government anti-drug films that reek of reefer madness. From Cab Calloway's "Reefer Man" to the Small Faces' "Itchycoo Park" to Peter Tosh's "Legalize It" to Method Man and Redman's "How High," the album is almost as thorough as the film itself in its documentation of pot and pop music's intersections. Snippets of Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke and from Grass itself make the soundtrack just as humorous and informative as its film counterpart. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
