Amplified gathers two discs' worth of riff-heavy rock from the '60s and '70s, including the Who's "Can't Explain," the Kinks' "All Day & All of the Night," Golden Earring's "Radar Love," and Boston's "More Than a Feeling." Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild," the Guess Who's "American Woman," and Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" are among the collection's other highlights, and while songs like Cat Stevens' "Peace Train" and Elton John's "Your Song" are less amplified than the rest of the album, Amplified remains a solid collection of classic rock staples. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
