Eddie Jefferson's final recording (cut less than two years before his murder) has many highpoints. This LP includes classic versions of his funny "Benny's from Heaven," "Moody's Mood for Love" (with the talented singer Janet Lawson helping out), "Body and Soul" (which Jefferson turned into a tribute for Coleman Hawkins), "Jeannine" and the complex "Freedom Jazz Dance." Well worth searching for, hopefully this music will eventually be reissued on CD. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
