Covering a Beatles tune is risky business since the originals are so well known and unlikely to be improved by new interpretations. One solution is to reproduce them nearly note for note, as the Hollies do here with "If I Needed Someone." Another approach is head-scratching confusion, as Suzi Quatro demonstrates in her gender-blurred version of "I Wanna Be Your Man." You can release them as singles before the Beatles do, which is what Billy J. Kramer did with "Do You Want to Know a Secret" and "I Call Your Name." You can try the what-was-I-thinking avenue, as illustrated here by Pat Benatar's take on "Helter Skelter." Or you can take them to church, which is what Ike and Tina Turner do on this collection with "Come Together," "Get Back," and "Let It Be." Get Back is an interesting compilation, but is recommended only for the hopelessly devoted. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
