Artistic maturity marks Lila McCann's third career album, Complete. McCann herself says that each time she goes into the studio she is able to grow with a deeper knowledge of herself. That growth is evident in Complete. A more confident, independent Lila McCann interprets a more adult perspective on love than in her preceding albums, Something in the Air and Lila. The up-tempo, "Come a Little Closer," also the album's first single, is a far cry from a teenage crush song. Even more impressive is the title cut, a romantic ballad about two halves that come together as a whole. McCann is even able to cross the boundaries of age with the haunting "She Remembers Love," the heart-wrenching story of an Alzheimer's victim who may not remember what day it is but still remembers the love that has warmed her soul for over 60 years. Fresh out of high school, Lila McCann has a promising career in her future, especially if she continues to grow as an artist as she has done with Complete. ~ Rick Cohoon, All Music Guide
