Favourite Sixties features a number of popular songs from the decade. The emphasis here is on the lighter and more carefree side of the '60s rather than the rebellious and psychedelic side. Some of the better-known songs here include the Beach Boys' "Help Me Rhonda," Donovan's "Mellow Yellow," Herman's Hermits' "There's a Kind of Rush," and the Hollies' "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." It, of course, isn't a representative '60s best-of without some sort of Beatles representation, and here you get Matt Monro's version of McCartney's "Yesterday." Some of the songs on this album aren't quite as remembered as others, but nearly everything here is of high quality and stands the test of time. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
