    All Music Guide Review

Although not exactly a true greatest-hits collection, this release from Disky Records does gather up some interesting renditions from the Burt Bacharach songbook, including Sandie Shaw's version of "(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me," and a stark, moving take by Billy J. Kramer & the Dakotas of "Trains and Boats and Planes." Most of the big, early hits that Bacharach wrote with co-composer Hal David are not here, however. Still, it is nice to hear how completely Gene Pitney defined "Only Love Can Break a Heart," and the message inherent in "What the World Needs Now Is Love" (sung by Jackie DeShannon) is as true now as it has ever been. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
