All Music Guide Review

A decent introduction to the Small Faces' British psychedelic phase on Immediate Records, Itchycoo Park has a nice cohesive feel, with its music hall trappings and endless phased guitars, and many fans feel that this was the group's most creative period. Sanctuary's Ultimate Collection combines these tracks with the Small Faces' earlier mod/R&B-based singles to give a much more comprehensive overview of the group, and since some of those early tracks (like the infectious "What'cha Gonna Do About It?") are well-worth owning, it makes sense to go with the Sanctuary release. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
