The Temptations moved into world of jazzy pre-rock pop, and showed that great singers can handle anything. While many soul fans were surprised that they issued an album with versions of "Ol' Man River," "Somewhere," and "Taste of Honey," they were hooked once they heard it. This recording was another indication of how much Berry Gordy wanted to show mainstream audiences that Motown acts were versatile. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
