Good Time Down the Road (Bonus Tracks)

    03/25/2003 | Castle Us

    All Music Guide Review

Brian Knight was one of Britain's highly regarded slide guitar blues slingers. Even though he turned up on numerous sessions by other artists, he released few solo albums. Good Time Down the Road was originally released in 1988 and includes original material mixed with pretty basic cover versions of "High Heel Sneakers," "Hoochie Coochie Man," "My Babe," and "Meet Me at the Bottom." The special aspect of this Castle reissue is the inclusion of four bonus tracks from a concert recorded in 1995 dedicated to the memory of British blues pioneer Alexis Korner. Knight is assisted on these four tracks by John McClaughlin and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Unfortunately, these tracks represent some of the final documents of Knight, who passed away in 2001. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
