We've Gotta Get Out of This Place + 3 hooked the single around a pair of highlights from the band's second LP, their renditions of Billy Boy Arnold's "I Ain't Got You" and Chuck Berry's "How You've Changed." Oddly enough, on the former, they repair the language ("I don't have you") on the first verse but not the second, which fits better with the Hilton Valentine solo that follows; and the latter is a slow blues by Berry that's among his best (and least covered) compositions. There's also one Eric Burdon original showcasing the singer's soul-shouting capabilities -- in a vein recalling Otis Redding -- about as well as any record they'd ever cut. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
