Knowing no bounds when it comes to making numerous variations on the same theme, Time Life's Sounds of the Eighties series breaks down the decade with year-specific volumes, then with another set that looks at a couple years at a time, and then with yet another set that looks at a few years at a time. However, there is very little (if any) overlap between the discs. Sounds of the Eighties: The Early '80s, Take Two features A Taste of Honey's "Sukiyaki," the Go-Go's "Our Lips Are Sealed," Juice Newton's "Angel of the Morning," Culture Club's "Church of the Poison Mind," and Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
