    The Great Tremeloes

    09/10/1998 | Goldies Records

    All Music Guide Review

The Tremeloes had a knack for picking the right cover songs, wrangling hits with versions of "Twist and Shout," "Do You Love Me," the Strangeloves' "I Want Candy," and even the Beatles with "Good Day Sunshine." This collection lacks all of these, although it does have what is easily the Tremeloes' greatest single, an infectious take on Cat Stevens' "Here Comes My Baby," as well as a fun version of Roy Orbison's "Candy Man." Too much is missing, though, to make this anything other than just a barely adequate purchase. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
