The Special Edition of Elvis Presley's Clambake soundtrack is an extravaganza. The original soundtrack, issued in 1967, is more than doubled in size. There were 12 cuts on the original LP, and this issue, on Follow That Dream Records, contains no less than 25, the new ones being alternate takes or movie master outtakes -- some of them radically different in quality and even performance from the film version's final master. The sound has been completely and pristinely remastered, and the cover art remains original. There are liners inside with more information. But one should also not forget that this is the recording that gave listeners "Guitar Man," "Big Boss Man," "Hey, Hey, Hey," and "You Don't Know Me." Elvis fans have reason to celebrate. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
