The Magic label's 1963-1979 Hollies compilation features all of the usual characters ((&"Bus Stop," "King Midas in Reverse," "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" and "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"), as well as deeper cuts like "I Can't Tell the Bottom from the Top" and "Do the Best You Can." While 1990's Epic Anthology and Raven's On a Carousel, 1963-1974: The Ultimate Hollies remain the quintessential Hollies primers, this fine collection hits all the right notes. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
