A live document of Akkerman's continuing evolution into jazz-rock during the late 70s and early 80s, largely drawn from his previous year's eponymous release. Like many of his albums, half of it is inspired and half is drudgery. The first half runs from the ghostly introduction "Transitory" -- a piece not unlike the haunting releases by the ECM label in this same period -- to staccato guitar work of "Skydancer" and the fluid sax solos of "Pavane." The second half of the album is merely competent jazz-rock cerca 1978, pleasant enough to listen to but not memorable. ~ Paul Collins, All Music Guide
