Family/Blue

All Music Guide Review

This set combines LeAnn Rimes' 1996 debut album, Blue, with an album she recorded much further down the line, 2007's Family, skipping the many genre excursions she went through in the releases that appeared between these two. Only 15 years old when Blue came out, Rimes has shown a surprising willingness to step outside of the country-pop box since, but with Family, she returned to it as a fully grown woman, and this time featuring a group of songs that she either wrote or co-wrote. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
