This rather bizarre Japanese collection was culled from Bryan Adams' recordings for A&M from his first couple of albums, and doesn't include anything from 1983's Cuts Like a Knife. What? Right, it doesn't include that track or "This Time," to name a couple. Technically, it sounds great, but -- simply put -- this is far from the best of a songwriter who made his mark with the aforementioned album. For those interested in Adams' work, or for the nostalgically curious, the 2005 release Anthology -- which comes with a DVD of his videos and live performances -- is a far better buy, since any CD coming from Japan is going to cost a mint anyway. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
