    All Music Guide Review

Though Varese's Absolutely the Best of the British Invasion doesn't quite live up to its title, but it does collect some of the best British Invasion singles, including the Moody Blues' "Go Now," the Yardbirds' "Shapes of Things," the Kinks' "Well Respected Man," Status Quo's "Pictures of Matchstick Men," and the Tremeloes' "Here Comes My Baby." The Small Faces' "Itchycoo Park" and Eric Burdon's "We Got to Get Out of This Place" are two other highlights of this enjoyable album, which also includes tracks by Gerry & the Pacemakers, Donovan, the Searchers, the Zombies, and the Troggs. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
