    Whether or not you think the Grammy Awards really represent the best popular music has to offer, it's (oddly enough) pleasantly difficult to find fault with Grammy picks in the hip-hop world, as demonstrated by 2000 Grammy Nominees: Rap. The overall selection of artists here strikes a nice balance between innovation and pop accessibility, featuring cuts by Will Smith, Dr. Dre, Eminem, the always amazing Busta Rhymes, the Roots, Nas, and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott. Even if it's a little brief, it's an entertaining snapshot of mainstream hip-hop at the turn of the millennium. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
